Mrs. Pickens

1 minute read

We did a study over clouds and weather towards the end of last school year! After we completed, the students were given an opportunity to explain what they had learned through a variety of media. One of my students wrote a rap, others completed Power Points, posters and mobiles. After they completed, they had to share their product with the class and explain what they had learned. It was an enriching experience, rather than saying for all of my students to make a poster, etc. I wanted them to have the opportunity to express their ideas in a way they were comfortable.

We also made a cloud journal to go along with this unit. You can find it in our TPT store by following the link below.

Students will record the clouds every day for a week and log their observations. There is also an alternate format for the journal that does not include the names of the clouds in order for it to be more challenging.

On the backside of the journal pages, they describe the sky using only adjectives and compare and contrast previous days clouds. Great to pair with a cloud, weather or water cycle unit!
