We read Henry and Mudge in our Reading Street curriculum and the students came up with adjectives to describe the character in the story. Once again, I love Post-It Notes!

After we read the story, The Dot, our students make a dot and write a 5 syllable-7 syllable-5 syllable poem about their dot. Mrs. Dunagan & I get more creative with this the following year! Post to come soon!
This is the 6th week of 1st grade last year. I titled my blog, Minds in Bloom’s because I use Bloom’s Taxonomy in my classroom daily. Higher level thinking is a priority in my classroom and my students have risen to that level since I have set those high expectations. Weekly, I have my students simply ask questions about a story we are reading or about a topic we are studying.
