Our gift to our students at the end of last year was a science day! They enjoyed the implementation of STEM, so we knew they would enjoy our science experiments. We did vinegar and baking soda reactions in cylinders and we had just recently concluded States of Matter and wanted them to see all states in one experiment. Hence, the first picture. Baking soda, Vinegar and the balloon! During our cloud unit, guess what happens when you put a bar of Ivory soap in the microwave for a couple minutes?

We did a study over clouds and weather towards the end of last school year! After we completed, the students were given an opportunity to explain what they had learned through a variety of media. One of my students wrote a rap, others completed Power Points, posters and mobiles. After they completed, they had to share their product with the class and explain what they had learned. It was an enriching experience, rather than saying for all of my students to make a poster, etc.
